Today’s story is about one of the richest, most powerful people in the world. He is the CEO of Alphabet, also commonly known as Google. His name is Mr Sundar Pichai. He is an innovator and one of the best leaders the world has seen in today’s times.

Sundar Pichai was born to a middle class, typical Indian family in South India. He was raised in a humble two-bedroom home in Tamil Nadu. We can see his passion for technology from a young age, as he was an excellent student and was intrigued by technology. His passion and curiosity landed him a spot in one of the most prestigious technological and engineering institutes of India- IIT Kharagpur.
Pichai paved his way to success. He continued his education at Stanford University. He also went to the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. In the year 2004, he joined Google. He was placed at the position of Product Manager there. This is when he came up with ideas such as Google Chrome and Chrome OS. This was Pichai’s Eureka Moment. His innovations have proved to be a few of the greatest progressions in the world of technology. He also developed the idea of Google Drive. His hard work and creativity brought him a long way in this field. He also developed the Chromebook. These innovations proved to be very beneficial for Alphabet. Soon enough, Android too was added to the list of products that he oversees which wad formerly managed by Andy Rubin.
In August 2015, Sundar Pichai was chosen as the CEO of Google. In the coming years, he was appointed as the CEO of Alphabet in the year 2019. This was the biggest leap of his success.
Pichai was also supposedly a contender for the position of CEO at Microsoft in the year 2014, which was eventually given to Satya Nadella.
Sundar Pichai is married to Anjali Pichai, a classmate of his from IIT Kharagpur. They have two children, Kiran and Kavya. Pichai’s interests also include cricket and football, as he said in an interview.
At present, Sundar’s net worth is estimated to be around $600 billion.
He has also recently donated 1 million dollars for the Coronavirus Pandemic Relief.
In Pichai’s words, “As long as you follow your heart and do what you want, you will always do much better, no matter what your educational qualification is.” These words are very valuable to the youth of the country today.
