Ekta Ravi Kapoor, the czar of Indian television industry was born on 7th of June 1975 to the legendary Bollywood actor Jeetendra aka Ravi Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor. Her younger brother, Tusshar Kapoor is also a bollywood actor.

Though she was born with a silver spoon but her passion made work at an early age of 17. Her first endeavour was working with Kailash Surendranath, an ad and filmmaker. Unfortunately, it was not that successful.

After facing failures, she did not start anything on her own. But, when she was 19, her father received an undeniable deal from his friend Ketan Somania, who owned the Dolphin Group. Somania bought a new TV channel and wanted Jeetendra to take over and start production.

This was the Eureka moment for Ekta Kapoor as her father shouldered a huge responsibility of the production on her. Ekta Kapoor and her mother started the production house, ‘Balaji’ and began to produce TV soaps and series in 1994.  Her father stood by her side and helped her with her endeavours.

However, the initial phase of the production house failed to make an impact and increase the channel’s television rating point – TRP . However, Ekta continued to struggle and continued her entrepreneurial course.  After the release of Hum Paanch, the show earned the recognition that it deserved and her success journey began from there.

Balaji Telefilms has produced some of the most successful television legends like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kasauti Zindagi ki, to name a few. Moreover, she also has a film production house name Alt Balaji, that has 8-9 films under their banner.

In 2000, Kapoor went on to produce the famous Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu in which she had a pivotal women-centric character whose life story touched the hearts of millions of women in the country. The actor is so well known that later she became the minister and member of parliament in India.

Since then, Ekta Kapoor never looked back and her journey is as charismatic as her life. She is the perfect example of a modern day Indian woman and an inspiration to many women around the world.

She also quoted once that

” Constantly adapting yourself to changing times is a very integral part of a successful person’s personality because change is the only constant, and one should have the ability to change and adapt to change with time.”
